Site of home collapse on South Bower cleaned up
SHENANDOAH – The site where a long-abandoned home collapsed earlier this month has been cleaned up, borough council said Monday.
Tony Sajone, borough manager, said the home at 40 South Bower Street was not listed in any tax sale list because someone had bid on it. The property also includes the duplex which formerly adjoined the home.
He said the bidders are still interested and want to rehab the duplex and asked if they could clean up the collapsed portion and were granted permission from the county.
“They did a nice job, they got a dumpster,” Sajone said, adding the bidders were told they couldn’t work on rehabilitating the homes until the sale goes through.
