Police pursuit from Ringtown ends on west end
SHENANDOAH – A man is in custody after leading Ringtown Police on a pursuit that ended on Shenandoah’s west end Friday evening.
The pursuit concluded on South Gilbert Street between West New York and West Centre Streets around 6:45pm, when the man, fleeing in a Ford Taurus, struck a parked pickup truck and was intercepted by Shenandoah and Mahanoy Township Police.
Ringtown Police at the scene said they tried to stop the man, whom they did not identify, for an expired registration, and he took off.
Officers said he led police on a pursuit via Cemetery Hill Road, Krebs Road, Ringtown Boulevard, and around Shenandoah before he was stopped on the west end.
Police took the man into custody under suspicion of DUI at the scene, as well.
The investigation is continuing.
