Chimney collapses on East End, bricks hit car
SHENANDOAH – A car was damaged when a chimney partially collapsed on Shenandoah’s east end.
Borough fire chiefs were called to the 300 block of East Lloyd Street just before 3:00pm for a structural investigation after bricks from the chimney between 309 and 311 East Lloyd fell into the sidewalk and road.
A clear brick-shaped mark was left on the hood of a parked Ford Fusion outside the homes, and loose bricks were strewn about the roof and sidewalk.
The two homes are vacant and owned by Jose A Manzueta Bautista, of Hazleton, according to the Schuylkill County Parcel Locator.
No one was struck or hurt, and firefighters removed the remainder of the loose bricks from the chimney to eliminate the hazard.
