Blighted buildings coming down in Shenandoah

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - An empty lot is all that remains of a double block home at Cherry and Ferguson Streets, seen on July 12, 2023.
SHENANDOAH – Two demolition crews were at work Wednesday bringing down two blighted buildings in the borough.
Just after midday Wednesday, Trendsetters Investments had a blighted double-block home at Cherry and Ferguson Streets demolished. That demolition came via a grant from the county commissioners.
Across town, Kass Contracting continued work to demolish the former Lincoln School and Unemployment Office building at Lloyd and West Streets.

That building is being brought down by its owner, the Onoolloo Corporation, of New York City, after part of the roof collapsed.
The building had been vacant since the 1990s.
