Two transported from Gold Star crash
SHENANDOAH – Two people were taken to a local hospital after a crash on the Gold Star Highway Friday.
State Police at Frackville released information on the crash today after declining comment at the scene Friday.
The crash happened around 11:15am Friday across from the entrance to the former junkyard.
Troopers said Daniel Cox, 38, of Shickshinny, was headed south on the Gold Star in the right-hand lane towards Turkey Run in a 2020 Ford F-150.
Joseph Najda, 47, of Ringtown, was headed south in the left lane in a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado.
Troopers said Cox turned into the path of Najda, leaving Najda no chance to avoid a broadside collision.
Najda and Cox were both taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Schuylkill – East Norwegian Street by Shenandoah Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. Najda’s 15-year-old passenger was unharmed. All involved were wearing their seatbelt.
Cox will be cited, troopers said.
