Man killed in road rage incident near Orwigsburg
ORWIGSBURG – A man is dead and another person is in State Police custody after a road rage incident turned violent on Route 61 in West Brunswick Township today.
State Police at Schuylkill Haven were called to Route 61 and Brick Hill Road around 2:00pm for a reported stabbing with the actor fleeing the scene.
The driver, who fled in a four-door silver Honda Accord, was spotted by Orwigsburg Police down the road, and a short pursuit began.
The Honda came to a stop between Holly Road and Chestnut Ridge Drive in Deer Lake, where the actor was taken into custody.
Troopers said George Marcincin, 38, of Orwigsburg, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office.
An investigation determined that the two were headed southbound on Route 61, when a road rage incident ensued.
“Both the victim and actor exited their vehicles where they engaged in a physical confrontation,” Trooper David Beohm, Troop L Public Information Officer, said at a press conference. “The actor produced a knife and then proceeded to stab the victim multiple times during the altercation.”
Beohm said the investigation is continuing, and troopers are asking anyone with additional information to contact the Schuylkill Haven barracks. Beohm said the two vehicles involved were a red Dodge Ram and a silver Honda Accord.
“We’re looking for anyone that might’ve seen some erratic, or common road rage, driving practices,” Beohm told the media.
The actor has yet to be formally charged, as interviews were ongoing at the time of Monday’s press conference.
“We want to get this out so if there’s anybody out there who’s seen something, even if it’s something really little, call us and we’ll decide if it’s significant or not,” Beohm said.
The contact number for the Schuylkill Haven barracks is 570-754-4600.
Why is he being called the actor ? The accused I understand , but actor ? Taking another mans life is not pretend or acting. This socially and political correctness is out of control .
The noun “actor” has multiple meanings, one of which, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, is “a participant in an action or process.” The usage is grammatically correct, not “socially and politically” correct.
