Troopers release details on Brandonville crash
BRANDONVILLE – State Police have release details on a crash that sent several people to the hospital in this East Union Township village last week.
The crash happened last Sunday, Oct. 18 around 6:30am, State Police at Frackville said.
Troopers said John Deangelo, 46, of Ringtown, was headed east on Route 339 towards Brandonville in a 2015 Ram 1500 when he “failed to clear the intersection following a stop sign” at 339’s intersection with 924 — Rattlin’ Run Road, Pole Road, and Main Boulevard.
Deangelo proceeded into the intersection and was struck broadside in the rear passenger door by a 2001 Honda driven by Rosa Perez-Arias, 46, of Shenandoah.
Deangelo’s Ram rolled onto its driver’s side and he and a 16-year-old Ringtown girl had to be mechanically extricated from the truck.
Both vehicles were disabled, and all three involved in the crash sustained minor injuries and were taken to a Hazleton hospital for evaluation.
All occupants were wearing seatbelts.
Responding to the scene along with state troopers were firefighters from Sheppton-Oneida and Mahanoy City’s West End Fire Co., as well as Shenandoah Ambulance and Mahanoy City Ambulance.
