Two transported after Main Street crash

SHENANDOAH – Two borough residents were taken to a local hospital after a crash on South Main Street near Valero Friday.

The crash happened around 1:00pm in the area of 415 South Main Street, state troopers said.

A 2016 Chevrolet Equinox was headed south on Main Street entering the Gold Star Highway as a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee was preparing to turn into the Valero gas station from the southbound lane.

Troopers said the Equinox, driven by 24-year-old Sonya Knapp, of Shenandoah, attempted to pass the Jeep in a no-passing zone. The two vehicles collided at the front fenders, and the Equinox continued and struck the nearby Gold Star Bridge.
