One flown in Raven Run crash

RAVEN RUN – One person was flown while another suffered minor injuries in a single vehicle crash near the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Shenandoah’s facilities early Friday morning.

The crash happened around midnight in the area of 411 Raven Run Road in West Mahanoy Township a few hundred yards from the border with Union Township.

A 1999 Dodge Dakota was travelling eastbound towards Shenandoah Heights when the driver, Andrew Dalvet, Turkey Run, attempted to avoid a deer, striking a tree along the roadside.

Dalvet suffered a minor knee injury and was treated at the scene by Shenandoah Ambulance., though passenger George Barlow, Shenandoah Heights, was transported to an area hospital via air medical for treatment of injuries.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene.

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL – Firefighters from Shenandoah, Shenandoah Heights, and Altamont at the scene of a vehicle accident near Raven Run.

Firefighters from Shenandoah Heights, Altamont, Shenandoah, and Mahanoy City responded to the scene along with police from Shenandoah and West Mahanoy Township and paramedics from Shenandoah and Schuylkill EMS.

Fire crews were clear of the scene within about an hour.
