SUV crashes through garage, into house in Locustdale

LOCUSTDALE – A man escaped injury after his SUV crashed through a garage and into the wall of a house in the Conyngham Township, Columbia County section of this village Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the 200 block of Middle Avenue around 2:00pm Wednesday for the crash.

According to Locustdale Fire Chief Ralph Hoagland, a man was pulling into his garage behind a home at 246 Middle Avenue. He said the driver told him the Kia SUV kept going, crashing through the wall of the garage.

The Kia proceeded through the backyard before striking the home.

The man was uninjured, Hoagland said.

Firefighters from Locustdale, Aristes, and Ashland, along with EMTs from Ashland’s Washington Fire Company responded to the scene.
