NORTHERN SCHUYLKILL – The following is a compilation of police incidents handled in and around our area by the PA State Police.

Borough teen swiped snacks from Boyer’s

A Shenandoah teen is accused of shoplifting after state troopers say she swiped snacks from the west end Boyer’s on March 9.

Troopers were called to the business at 600 West Centre around 8:30am on Monday, March 9.

They said a 16-year-old female had concealed spearmint gum, gummy bears, Fritos, and a juice drink in her bag. Employees observed her doing so and called police, troopers said.

The investigation is pending, they added.

Zion Grove woman hits tree near Sheppton

A Zion Grove woman’s car was towed from the scene, and she will be cited after she struck a tree near Sheppton Tuesday afternoon.

State Police from the Frackville barracks were dispatched around 2:30pm for the crash on Route 924 near Sheppton.

Troopers said Christina Zook, 34, of Zion Grove was headed east on Route 924 in a 2003 Subaru Impreza when she went off the left side of the roadway and hit a tree.

Her vehicle was towed from the scene, and she will be cited for traffic violations.

DUI charges pending against Morea man

A Morea man is accused of DUI after crashing his car in Blythe Township last month.

The crash happened around 9:00pm Feb. 17 on Skyline Drive in Blythe.

Troopers said Eric Weeks, 29, of Morea crashed his 2014 Chevy Cruze and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

Monroe County man cited for trespassing at PSP-Hazleton barracks

A Monroe County man was cited for trespassing after troopers found him walking behind their barracks in the Valmont Industrial Park, West Hazleton, Wednesday morning.

State Police at Hazleton said that, around 7:00am, they found Jeremiah Thomas, 42, of Saylorsburg in the back lot of their barracks at 250 Dessen Drive in West Hazleton.

The lot is posted to prohibit entry to unauthorized personnel.

Thomas was cited through Magisterial District Judge James Dixon.
