State Police arrest two on warrants in Turkey Run traffic stop; one from Reading

TURKEY RUN – State Troopers from the Frackville barracks nabbed two wanted on outstanding warrants in a traffic stop in the Turkey Run section of Shenandoah on the evening of New Year’s Eve.
The traffic stop occurred in the area of Route 924 and Pioneer Road around 6:30pm Sunday, where troopers stopped driver 32-year-old Leslie Anne Tapia, of Ashland, and passenger 41-year-old Joaquin Gonzalez of Reading, Berks County.
Troopers discovered Tapia had an outstanding bench warrant with the Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office, on an original charge of resisting arrest, while Gonzalez had an outstanding arrest warrant from the city of Reading, on charges of felony aggravated assault.
Tapia is held in the Schuylkill County Prison, while Gonzalez was transported to Berks County and turned over to the Berks County Sheriff’s Department.
