SHENANDOAH – A staple of the holiday season in Shenandoah is returning once again.

Coal Cracker Christmas will take place the evening of Black Friday, Nov. 28, in downtown Shenandoah.

The event begins outside the Downtown Shenandoah Inc. offices at the A.P. Damato Post on North Main Street.

It begins at 5:45pm with a Dickens-inspired Christmas play put on by the Shenandoah Valley High School Drama Club, followed by a tree lighting.

From 6pm to 8pm is a favorite tradition: horse-drawn trolley rides through downtown Shenandoah, provided by Leiby’s Carriage Service.

At the same time, cookies and hot beverages will be served up inside the Damato Post.

A block away, at the Shenandoah Community Ambulance station, a model train display will be shown, devised by EMT Tom Rentschler.
