RENO, Nevada – A Ringtown man won a national championship in his age group last week at the United States Bowling Congress Senior Championship held in Reno, Nevada on August 3.
Terry Lindner, of Ringtown, took home first place in the 65-69 Open Division, holding off top qualifier Bobby Goss, Carrollton, Mississippi, scoring a 736 to Goss’ 727.
Lindner’s win came after a qualifying in fifth place, after two three-game qualifying blocks to set the field of six for each age group.
Nearly 400 bowlers from across North America competed in the event.
Competitors at the 2018 USBC Senior Championships earned their spots in this week’s field through their state or province’s senior tournaments.
