HAZLETON – Flames decimated an apartment block in this city overnight and crews remain on scene.

Crews were called to the 100 block of South Wyoming Street for a reported structure fire around 11:30pm late Tuesday.

Arriving firefighters found the upper floors of the three-story apartment building engulfed in flames and a second alarm was struck, drawing crews from across southern Luzerne, northern Schuylkill, and Carbon counties to the scene.

Much of the apartment building collapsed into Walnut Street early in the firefight.
