Lawn mower dumped in Weston Dam; fire company issues warning

WESTON – Someone dumped a lawn mower in the Weston Dam, and the fire company, which owns the dam, is warning against trespassing.
The Nuremberg-Weston Volunteer Fire Company said the dam is not a public swimming or fishing area and is open only to department members or folks with permission from the department.
Recently, a lawn mower and trailer wound up in the dam, which is used as an emergency water supply for fires in the Nuremberg and Weston areas.
The dam is also used for an annual fishing derby as a fundraiser for the fire company.
“If you want to use the perks that we have, then fill out an application,” the fire company wrote in a Facebook post referring to the dam. “We don’t want to be the bad guy and start having people cited for trespassing but unfortunately its coming to that over nonsense like this.”
