Drainage culvert issue prompts closure at shopping plaza

SHENANDOAH – An entrance to the Boyer’s Food Markets plaza on the west end is closed as borough officials say a drainage culvert there is failing.

Borough officials said the area, across from Gualtier’s Beer Distributor, is closed off with barriers.

The culvert underneath, officials said, is bowing and failing.

“For your safety, the Borough is urging all residents and visitors to respect the barriers and avoid entering the restricted area,” the borough wrote. “This measure is necessary to prevent potential injury until repairs can be completed.”
