New Jersey woman rescued, flown from Route 61 rollover blamed for crash
DARKWATER – State troopers have identified a New Jersey woman who had to be rescued from a tractor trailer rollover that tied up traffic on Route 61 earlier this month, and they blamed the crash on her.
The crash happened around 3:30pm July 2 on Route 61 north of Darkwater Road in the “S-Curves” in New Castle Township.
State Police at Frackville said Arlenny Abreu, 30, of Perth Amboy, was driving a 2012 International tractor-trailer southbound through the work zone.
The truck rolled, hitting multiple concrete barriers, and Abreu had to be rescued from the crash.
Troopers said she was “travelling at speeds greater than reasonable or prudent considering the roadway is an active work zone,” leading to the crash. She has been cited with driving at a safe speed, careless driving, accidents involving an overturned vehicle, and roadways laned for traffic.
