HS SOFTBALL: Cougars fall to Northampton 11-1

HAZLETON – The Hazleton Cougars softball team was handed their fourth loss on the season Thursday to a Lehigh Valley foe.
They hosted the Konkrete Kids of Northampton, who entered the game 11-4. Hazleton stood at 5-3 entering the game.
It was a defensive battle through the first two innings. At one point, Hazleton had bases loaded but couldn’t capitalize.
In the third, the Konkrete Kids exploded, scoring seven runs. They added another in the 5th and three more in the sixth. Hazleton scored one run in the sixth to make it an 11-1 ballgame.
Hazleton’s Saige Klesh batted in the run for the Cougars, allowing Elia Tito to return home.
Klesh led the team with three hits. Kayla Lagowy, Tito, and Isabella Boyle added a hit each.
