RINGTOWN – If you’re a resident of Ringtown Borough, consider serving on the Ringtown Recreation Committee.

Borough Council said at Monday night’s meeting longtime president John Breznik has resigned from the committee. He’d served for 19 years.

There are two active members from the borough, Council Vice President Tom Murray said, reading from a letter from the committee. One of them is considering resigning.

“If you could ask anybody if they want to be a member of the recreation committee, that sure would help,” Murray said.

In other business, council received an update on the ongoing wind-up of the North Schuylkill Landfill Association.

Street Sweeping is planned for Thursday, April 17 from 7am to 5pm. A Ringtown police officer will be on duty and vehicles will be ticketed and towed if not moved.
