Coal Cracker Christmas returning to Shenandoah
SHENANDOAH – Black Friday is an all-day Christmas kickoff in the heart of the anthracite, and this year is no exception.
After Santa Claus parachutes into the Shenandoah Valley at midday, the festivities move downtown for the annual Coal Cracker Christmas event at the Downtown Shenandoah, Inc. offices at 116 North Main Street.
In the Veterans Memorial Park, the Shenandoah Valley High School Drama Club will present a Dickens-inspired Christmas play.
Afterwards, cookies and hot beverages will be served inside the A.P. Damato Post courtesy of Mid Penn Bank and the Lyric Restaurant.
From 6pm to 8pm, Leiby’s Carriage Service will hold their horse-drawn trolley rides around downtown Shenandoah. Shenandoah One Stop and Ringtown One Stop are sponsors this year.
At the north end of downtown, the Shenandoah Community Ambulance Association will host photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus along with a holiday train display put together by one of their members.
