CROSS COUNTRY: Shenandoah sweeps District XI titles

CENTER VALLEY – Both of Shenandoah Valley’s Cross Country teams are bringing District XI titles back home from the Lehigh Valley.
Both the Boys and Girls teams won the District XI 1A championship at the district meet at DeSales University in Center Valley, near Allentown.
For the boys, junior Robert Espinal led the Blue Devils, finishing second with a time of 17:14.3 behind Minersville’s Kolin Long.
Senior Ayden Zamudio finished 5th with a time of 18:30.9 before leaving to lead the Shenandoah Valley boys soccer team to their first postseason victory and continuing the Devils’ undefeated run at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Senior William Mayberry led Mahanoy Area, finishing 6th with a time of 18:35.7.
