Sentinel brings home sixth Keystone Media Award
SHENANDOAH – Thursday, the Sentinel was one of many local news outlets recognized in the Keystone Media Awards in Swatara Township, near Harrisburg.
For the third time in a row, the Sentinel‘s Kaylee Lindenmuth received a first place award for Breaking News Photo in Division IV of the statewide contest put on by the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association. This year’s contest was judged by journalists in Wisconsin.
The Sentinel received first place for Breaking News photo in 2021 and 2022, sweeping the category in 2022. The Sentinel was not eligible to enter the awards in 2023.
The honor is the sixth for the Sentinel in the Keystone Media Awards. In 2022, along with first and second place for Breaking News Photo, the Sentinel earned first place for graphic/photo illustration for the current graphics package used on the website and social media as well as second place for news/beat reporting.
Lindenmuth’s photo of a Ringtown Valley firefighter battling a brush fire in North Union Township in February earned the award.
