HS BASKETBALL: Mahanoy boys defeat Williams Valley 72-49

MAHANOY CITY – The Bears remained undefeated Thursday night, defeating the Vikings of Williams Valley.

Thursday’s win was Mahanoy’s 20th of the season and two games remain before playoffs.

The Bears’ scoring effort was led by Chris Cuff, who scored 17 points, with the lion’s share coming from the free throw line.

Three other Bears were in double-digit scoring, with Brady Alansky scoring 15, Tanner Zawada 14, and Kadin Styka 12.

Jace Yedsena and Zawada led Mahanoy in three-pointers with two apiece.

For the Vikings, three were also in double-digits, with Alex Achenbach leading with 16, followed by Evan Achenbach with 13 and Brady Shomper with 12.

Mahanoy hosts Shenandoah Valley Friday night and travels to Marian next Tuesday to close out the regular season.
