Flames destroy barn in Weston
WESTON – A barn in this Black Creek Township village was destroyed by fire Friday afternoon, drawing crews from as far as Shenandoah to the scene.
The blaze broke out just after 2pm in the 400 block of Hazle Street between the Nuremberg-Weston Fire Co. and Weston proper.
Crews arrived to find the barn, located behind a home at 489 Hazle Street, engulfed in flames.
Firefighters from Nuremberg-Weston, Sheppton-Oneida, Shenandoah, Mahanoy City, Ringtown Valley, Hazle Township, Harwood, Sugarloaf, and more responded to the scene.
A portable water pond was set up in front of the property for a water source.
The property owner suffered minor injuries and a State Police fire marshal has been called in to investigate.
