Borough seeking county CDBG funds for blight demolition, sewer inlet repair

SHENANDOAH – Borough Council approved a resolution Monday night seeking Community Development Block Grant funds from the county for demolition borough-wide and the repair of of a sewer inlet in the Glover’s Hill section.

The county plans to distribute $1.1 Million in CDBG funds countywide, and the borough is seeking $35,826 for the sewer inlet repair and $43,924 for demolition.

Borough manager Tony Sajone told the Sentinel that the inlet in need of repair is at Locust and Arlington streets in the Glover’s Hill section of town, behind Veterans Memorial Stadium.

A hearing is set for Sept. 27 at noon at the county courthouse regarding the county’s CDBG program.
