SHENANDOAH – An upcoming multi-million dollar project to reconstruct Route 924 from the Brandonville/Pattersonville Y intersection to Frackville, including Main Street and the Gold Star Highway, will also include every traffic light in downtown Shenandoah.

The reconstruction project was first announced in 2016 and will include resurfacing about five miles of roadway at a cost of about $7 to $9 Million over two or three years.

The addition of the traffic signal replacement, announced Monday during borough council’s monthly meeting, will cost an additional $1 Million.

The project is in the final design phase, according to PennDOT, and should begin in mid to late spring next year.

Traffic lights will be replaced on Main Street at Washington, Coal, Lloyd, Centre, and Oak Streets.
