SHENANDOAH – A company that expanded into our area in recent years is celebrating 45 years in business.
United Plate Glass was founded in 1980, is headquartered in Sunbury, and opened a plant in the former Amity Carts shop on East Washington Street in 2023.
In the past five years, the company’s employee count has grown by two-thirds, to 35, UPG said in a release.
They have worked across the Mid-Atlantic region with major brands and companies, including McDonalds, Amazon, GIANT, Weis, Taco Bell, and Susquehanna University, among others.
“We have a great team,” company President Nate Lawrence said. “I always refer to my coaching/sports background, as I truly believe organized team sports builds great character and teamwork. We have some of the best team members around.”
“When we complete projects with our customers, we want to be a reliable and a strong resource,” Lawrence said. “We truly want every customer that we work with to feel like we’re part of their team and be a part of their success. We want to help solve problems and make every project the best possible.”
