Two charged for downtown Ashland altercation
ASHLAND – A Tower City man and Ashland woman are facing harassment and disorderly conduct after an altercation in the 1300 block of Walnut Street Saturday afternoon.
State Police at Frackville were called there around 1:45pm by a woman reporting that an unknown male had run across the street at her and had threatened to throw her.
The woman, later identified as Caitlyn Arianna Boyer, 27, of Ashland, told police she was scared and was waiting inside her sister’s home.
Boyer said that she was walking to her car when the man, later identified as James Whitman, 30, of Tower City, “came over, got in her face, and chest bumped her,” saying that he was going to throw her on the ground.
Whitman, however, said that two of his friends were talking to someone on the opposite side of Walnut Street when Boyer started yelling at them. An argument ensued, and Whitman said he tried to intervene, and, when he was near Boyer, she pushed him in the chest.
Troopers looked over surveillance video from the scene, and harassment and disorderly conduct charges are to be filed against Boyer and Whitman, they said.
