Truck slides down Heights hill, downs street light, flagpole, nearly hits ambulance building
SHENANDOAH – An unloaded tractor-trailer nearly found itself embedded in the Shenandoah Community Ambulance headquarters Friday morning.
Snowy conditions blanketed the region as the truck — a Freightliner operated by AD Express Trucking, LLC, of Philadelphia — tried to make its way down Route 924 into Shenandoah around 9am.
Borough police at the scene said the truck lost control on the hill and jackknifed as it reached Washington Street.
The truck then careened onto the sidewalk on North Main Street, clipping a pedestrian signal at the corner before downing a street light and the flagpole at the ambulance building.
It came to a rest against the building, only leaving marks from the hinges of its trailer door.
No one was injured, police said.
The truck was carrying an empty trailer, which PennDOT prohibited on I-81 around 7:45am due to weather conditions.
Semi-truck coming down Heights hill was definitely driving too fast for road conditions.
Yep that’s everybody answer. Do you even drive a 🚛 to start with ?
