Three threaten man, drive him to mother’s house in demand for cash
STOCKTON, Hazle Township – Three men are facing charges after state police say they threatened and struck a man, and drove him to his mother’s house in a demand for money.
State Police at Hazleton say they were called to a home on Club Forty Road in the township around 9:00am Sunday morning for a report that three males were threatening another, and were still on scene.
Troopers found that three men — Gary Stemko, 34, of Hazleton; Dillon Friendy, 26, of Hazleton; and Cole Schreffler, 29, of Weatherly — arrived at the Boundary Street, Hazleton, home of a 34-year-old man to demand money.
There, the trio threatened the man, and Schreffler punched him in the face.
Then, the trio drove the man to his mother’s Stockton home to obtain the demanded cash.
Inside, the man called the police, and the three fled.
While troopers were responding, they were notified that the three had left in a 2011 Jeep, bound for Hazleton. The trio passed state troopers who were on the way to the scene, and they were subsequently stopped at the Hazleton Elks and arrested.
Stemko and Friendy are facing harassment charges, while Schreffler is facing harassment, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespassing charges.
