Shen. woman facing DUI charges for New Year’s crash in Heights
SHENANDOAH HEIGHTS – State Police at Frackville released information Tuesday on the first fire call of the year in Schuylkill County early New Year’s Day, a car crash.
The crash happened minutes after midnight Jan. 1 as fireworks were being set off for New Year’s celebrations.
Troopers said a 2010 Chevy Cobalt was headed south on Wyoming Avenue in Shenandoah Heights when the driver, 46-year-old Tiffany Beaver, of Shenandoah, lost control of the car and struck a guiderail alongside Norton Way.
The sedan was disabled and towed from the scene.
Troopers said Beaver was not injured, but she was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI.
Misdemeanor DUI charges were filed Friday against Beaver along with a pair of traffic citations. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 22 at Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker’s Shenandoah courtroom.
Shenandoah Heights fire and Shenandoah Ambulance responded to the scene as well as State Police.
