Rush Township to assist elderly with food, medication deliveries

HOMETOWN – In response to the coronavirus epidemic, a local police department is stepping up to help our most vulnerable.

The Rush Township Police Department announced Wednesday they will help elderly who aren’t medically able to go out in public by delivering necessary medications and food.

Police ask that if you or someone you know needs such assistance, contact them at 570-668-4242.

“Rest assured that the men and women of the Rush Township Police Department will continue to respond to all law enforcement issues in the township and will be taking the recommended precautions when dealing with the public in order to keep everyone as safe as possible,” Chief Ken Zipovsky said in a release.

“Together, we are committed to making a safer community,” he added.
