Rescue Hook & Ladder buying SUV from Englewood fire co.
SHENANDOAH – The Shenandoah Fire Department will soon have a new piece of apparatus — an SUV from our neighbors in Butler Township — according to Shenandoah Borough Council.
Council approved adding a 2003 Ford Expedition to the borough’s insurance, as requested by the Rescue Hook and Ladder Fire Company.
Borough Council President Gordon Slater read a letter from the fire company, describing the purchase and making the request to council.
“We will be purchasing said vehicle for $4,500,” Slater said, reading the letter aloud. “This vehicle will be a great asset to our company, and will help provide better fire and EMS services to the borough of Shenandoah.”
The “Hookies” are purchasing the SUV from the Friendship Fire Co. of Englewood, Butler Township. They said it has 50,000 miles and has passed state inspection.
Borough Council approved the request unanimously.
