PSP: Man peeing along roadside hears noise, draws gun, shoots self while re-holstering
MELANIE MANOR – A man was injured after an accidental shooting near the Melanie Manor development near Ringtown Sunday night.
State Police at Frackville said they were dispatched to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Schuylkill – East Norwegian Street around 10:00pm Sunday when a man came to the emergency room with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The man, troopers said, had stopped his car on the roadside and exited to relieve himself in the roadside woodlands.
He heard a noise, prompting him to draw his gun.
No threat was evident, so he attempted to re-holster the firearm, at which point it went off and struck him in the left bicep.
He was then taken to the hospital by his sister and a friend.
Troopers said “nothing suspicious was determined with the incident.”
