PSP: Ashland man cuts woman with machete at Dauphin apartment complex
WILLIAMSTOWN, Dauphin County – An Ashland man is in Dauphin County Prison after state troopers say he cut a woman with a machete earlier this month in Williams Township.
Tyshon Handley, 32, of Ashland, is facing charges of felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor defiant trespass and terroristic threats, and summary harassment for the Oct. 5 incident.
State Police at Lykens released information on the incident Monday.
Troopers said they were called to the Laurel Hill Apartments on Autumn Drive in Williams Township, just outside Williamstown borough, around 11pm on Oct. 5.
Handley, they said, arrived at the apartment complex despite being banned, and went to the victim’s apartment.
An argument ensued between Handley and the victim, a 33-year-old woman, when Handley refused to leave.
Troopers said he assaulted the woman and cut her with a machete before fleeing into the woods when police were called.
Handley was eventually taken into custody outside another apartment and taken to the Dauphin County Judicial Center.
Bail was set at $25,000 secured, and he was committed to county prison, unable to post bail.
He is set to appear before Magisterial District Judge Rebecca Jo Margerum, Elizabethville, on Oct. 30.
