Pottsville lawyer announces candidacy for county Common Pleas court judge
POTTSVILLE – A Pottsville lawyer announced today he is running for judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin’s seat as a county Common Pleas court judge.
Christopher Hobbs, a partner in the Lieberman, Tamulonis, and Hobbs law firm in the city, announced the candidacy today, citing Dolbin’s decision not to seek retention.
“After twenty plus years handling civil, criminal, and administrative cases in various tribunals, I believe I have the experience, temperament, and expertise to serve the citizens of Schuylkill County well,” Hobbs said in a media release. “I have always practiced law with respect and integrity and promise to approach each case fairly and impartially, free from political influence and in accordance with the federal and state constitutions.”
“Schuylkill County has had and continues to have an outstanding bench to which I hope to contribute,” Hobbs continued. “With Judge Dolbin’s decision not to seek retention, I feel this is a tremendous opportunity to continue to serve the public.”

Jones and Associates law firm and owned and operated his own law firm in Pottsville. Over the past twenty years, he has represented individuals, municipalities, and businesses throughout the county.
He and his wife, Dr. Ali Rhoades Hobbs, live and volunteer in the county. Christopher Hobbs services as director of the county YMCA, as co-leader of the Schuylkill United Way’s Lawyer’s Division, serves on the county Bar Association’s Board of Directors, and is a member of the Disciplinary Court of Pennsylvania Hearing Committee.
