One shot in North West home

SHENANDOAH – One person was taken to the hospital after a shooting Wednesday morning on the west end.

Police officers were called to 26 North West Street around 9:30am for a reported shooting.

Chief George Carado had few details to share at the scene, saying it was “too early” in the investigation.

Carado said that one person had been shot inside 26 North West and was taken to the hospital, and the incident was under investigation. He added that he hoped to have more details available later in the day.

A State Police Forensic Services Unit was on the way to the scene as of 11:30am, he said.

No further information was available as of midday Wednesday.

Responding to the scene along with Shenandoah Police were officers from West Mahanoy Township, Mahanoy City, and Frackville.
