One in custody after Lansford standoff

LANSFORD, Carbon County – One person is in custody after a standoff here Monday evening, which led to the deployment of a state police tactical unit.
Specific details are few on the standoff in the 300 block of East Bertsch Street.
As the sun set, police officers from a variety of agencies, including Summit Hill and the State Police, descended upon the block, and a stretch of about five blocks of Bertsch and intersecting streets was shut down.

The State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) responded to the scene with their Bearcat armored vehicle and Rook armored skid-steer.
WFMZ-TV 69 reported late Monday that one person was taken into custody, though no further information was released.
SERT units cleared the scene around 8:30pm.
