May fire at Tamaqua Salvation Army ruled arson

TAMAQUA – A May fire at the Tamaqua Salvation Army has been ruled arson, according to state troopers.
According to State Police at Frackville, around 10:00am on May 12, fire broke out at 105 West Broad Street in Tamaqua borough, the Salvation Army building.
The Tamaqua Fire Department extinguished the fire and requested a state police fire marshal, who found two origins of the fire, both in the rear store room.
Troopers said the cause of the fire was arson, and that nobody entered or left the building around the time of the fire.
The Tamaqua Police Department, with the assistance of PSP, is investigating the incident, and anyone with information is asked to contact Tamaqua Police Corporal Thomas Rodgers or State Police Fire Marshal Joseph Hall.
