Mahanoy Township Authority to conduct hydrant flushing beginning next week
MAHANOY CITY – If you live in Mahanoy City, Gilberton, or surrounding areas served by the Mahanoy Township Authority, they are conducting routine hydrant flushing beginning next week.
From 7:30am to 4pm beginning April 15 through April 26, they will conduct their routine flushing.
“Flushing also allows us to monitor and maintain fire hydrants,” the authority said. “When crews are working in your area, you may notice reduced pressure and or/cloudy/discolored water.”
“If your water is discolored, boiling of drinking water is advised,” they added.
Impacted areas include Mahanoy City, Boston Run, Bowmans, Gilberton, Mahanoy Plane, Glendon, Maizeville, Maple Hill, Coles Patch, and Yatesville.
