Local fire companies, EMS corps receive pet oxygen mask donations

MINERSVILLE – Fourteen EMS providers and fire companies, including two in northern Schuylkill, received a key tool to help animals in fires and other emergencies, after a volunteer group presented the donations Thursday in Minersville.
Canine Clothing for Charity, a non-profit group dedicated to helping animals in Schuylkill County and the surrounding areas, presented the donations at the Goodwill Fire Company in Minersville. The group’s members are mostly from the Ashland area, though some are from beyond, including Shenandoah, New Ringgold, and as far as Harrisburg, Dauphin County.
The group creates handmade dog clothing, accessories, and more, selling the items at craft shows and other events.
Seven representatives of the recipient groups were on hand for the presentation.”This was our first endeavor, and we’re happy to distribute 14 pet oxygen masks tonight,” said Gail Lorady, Ashland, the group’s founder.

- Citizens Fire Company, Mahanoy City
- Donaldson Fire Company
- Good Intent Hose Company, Llewellyn
- Keystone Medical Response, Harrisburg, Dauphin County

- Minersville Fire/Rescue
- Newtown Fire Company
- North End Fire Company, Tulpehocken
- Phoenix Fire Company, Saint Clair
- Reinerton Fire Company
- Ringtown Valley Fire Company
- Tamaqua EMS
- Williamstown EMS
The group accepts donations, which can be made via a check payable to Canine Clothing for Charity, mailed to Miners Bank, 504 S. Lehigh Ave., Frackville.
