Hazleton man uninjured in crash near city

HAZLETON, Luzerne County – A Hazleton man was injured after he struck a tree about a mile east of Hazleton city limits early Thursday morning.
According to State Police at Hazleton, the crash occurred at 3:09am on E. Diamond Ave about a quarter mile east of Clouds Blvd.
Aleudy Placencia Diaz, 26, was travelling eastbound in a 2013 Toyota Camry when he left the roadway in a straightaway and struck a tree.
The vehicle suffered disabling damage to the engine compartment and front bumper and was leaking fluids.
Airbags were deployed, and Placencia Diaz was uninjured, wearing a seatbelt.
The roadway remained open as the crash was cleaned up, and no fire or EMS services were needed.
Placencia Diaz faces a traffic citation for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
