GoFundMe set up for Gold Star crash victim
WEST MAHANOY TWP. – A GoFundMe has been set up to cover funeral expenses for the victim of Monday’s fatal crash on the Gold Star Highway south of Shenandoah, and a memorial is growing alongside the highway.
Eighteen-year-old Jenna Sallade was killed when a Honda sedan crashed and rolled multiple times on the highway’s West Mahanoy Township stretch between the North Schuylkill Transfer Station and Gilberton.
A memorial at the scene of the crash is growing, which included a purple and white cross bearing her name Wednesday afternoon.
Her family has set up a GoFundMe to help cover funeral expenses and they described her as “always the life of the party and in any given chance would drop what she was doing to help anyone.
“Jenna’s love for everyone was through the roof, especially for her puppies,” Amanda Sallade, her sister, wrote in the GoFundMe’s description. “She was always so energetic and compassionate about what she was doing. Jenna had so much family and friends that looked up for her.”
As of Wednesday evening, the fundraiser had raised $6,530 of its $20,000 goal.
