Geisinger opens Careworks urgent care location in city

POTTSVILLE – Two months after Lehigh Valley opened their urgent care location, ExpressCARE, in the Schuylkill Medical Plaza in Pottsville, Geisinger today opened their own urgent care location, Careworks.
The Careworks location is located at the Geisinger Pottsville clinic at 529 Terry Reiley Way.
“Our new location is designed to be there when you need it the most,” said Richard Martin, MD, medical director at Geisinger Careworks, in a media release. “Open evenings and weekends, patients can use online check-in to hold their place in line or just walk in for issues like cold and flu symptoms, allergies, earaches, sprains and minor cuts.”
The location will be open Tuesday through Friday from 12:30pm to 8pm and Saturday 8am to 6pm.
“Careworks is staffed with advanced practitioners who treat patients 1 year of age and older,” Geisinger said in a media release. “This location provides patients convenient access to additional care, including laboratory, X-ray, cardiac and Geisinger CareSite Pharmacy services.”
Geisinger describes the Careworks locations as “the best place to go for minor health issues that can be resolved in a single visit.”
“Treating a sprained ankle and a rash to having a tick removed and evaluating infections of the sinuses, ears, urinary tract and respiratory system are examples of issues specialists treat at Geisinger urgent care clinics,” the company adds.
