Four displaced in New Philadelphia fire
NEW PHILADELPHIA – Four people and several pets are being assisted by the American Red Cross after a fire here Saturday evening.
Firefighters from across the Schuylkill Valley were called to a home at 189 Valley Street around 8pm for a reported fire.
Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the structure.
Fire was found in the basement and quickly knocked down.
No injuries were reported and fire officials said four people and their pets were displaced.
All units were clear by 8pm.
Responding were firefighters from New Philadelphia, Kaska, Cumbola, Tuscarora, Port Carbon, Middleport, Tamaqua, Pottsville, and Schuylkill Haven, along with Schuylkill EMS and Tremont Ambulance.
