Firefighters tackle shed fire on east end
SHENANDOAH – Firefighters made quick work of a reported shed fire on North Emerick Street on Shenandoah’s east end Monday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the 200 block of North Emerick Street around 2pm for a reported fire.
A black smoke column could be seen across town as crews responded.
Fire officials at the scene said a shed, an ATV, and other items caught fire behind a trailer home at 212 North Emerick and against a set of garages.
The garage sustained minor damage in the blaze.
No injuries were reported and firefighters were clear of the scene within about half an hour.
Assisting Shenandoah first responders at the scene were firefighters from Frackville and Mahanoy City along with Mahanoy City Police.
