Firefighters respond to building collapse in Maizeville

MAIZEVILLE – Firefighters were called to this section of Gilberton borough for a structure collapse early Monday.
Crews were called to 1313 Main Street just after 1am for a reported collapse.
Firefighters at the scene said the upper floors of the apartment building collapsed into the first floor.
No injuries were reported, and firefighters said the building had been in a state of collapse for awhile.
The building is owned by Edward Pautienus, of Shenandoah Heights, Joan Carl, of Hyattsville, Maryland, and Nancy Mihalko, of Hanover.
The trio has owned the property since 1981, according to the Schuylkill County Parcel Locator.
