Firefighters handle car fire on South Bridge Street
SHENANDOAH – Shenandoah firefighters tackled a car fire on the east end of town Thursday night.
Crews were called to South Bridge Street in the area of the Mrs. T’s plant around 10pm for a reported car fire.
They arrived to find fire in the engine compartment of a 1990s Chevrolet Beretta coupe just south of the Bridge Street bridge over Shenandoah Creek.
Crews made quick work of the fire and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
No injuries were immediately reported.
Responding to the scene were crews from Shenandoah’s Rescue Hook and Ladder and Columbia fire companies along with Shenandoah Police and Shenandoah Ambulance.
