Easter Bunny visits Frackville, Englewood
FRACKVILLE – Sirens blared throughout the Frackville area Sunday afternoon, but it wasn’t for a fire or other emergency.
Fitting for what’s shaped up to be an unusual Easter holiday, the Easter Bunny visited the “Mountain City” in the afternoon.
An organized Easter parade Friday only covered one third of the Frackville area — the Altamont section of West Mahanoy Township — so, today, the Frackville Recreation Board, assisted by the Good Will Fire Company of Frackville and the Friendship Fire Company of Englewood brought the Bunny to their sections today.
Frackville Fire Chief William Lindenmuth said they tried to include every street they could in the parade route. The route included Lehigh, Railroad, and Broad Mountain Avenues, as well as Nice, Balliet, Center, 2nd, Pine, Frack, 7th, 3rd, and Arch Streets.
Along the parade route, children and adults alike smiled and waved at the bunny, who stood atop Frackville Ladder 43-20.
